Happy Tuesday Girls!
Hope everyone enjoyed the long holiday weekend!
So true!
We had a GREAT weekend! I love a long weekend...and even though Mark had to work Saturday, I was super excited to have him home with us Sunday and Monday!
I was anxiously awaiting Friday morning so I could get my first pumpkin spice latte of the season....
The drive thru line was long....
But seeing as I was in my pajamas, I really had no other choice...
I was so content to sit in my pajamas, drink my yummy drink and just relax....
However...I was SUPER excited about the Jason Aldean concert...we LOVE going to concerts, and Jason Aldean is hands down my absolute favorite! We have seen him a few times before and he never ever disappoints...and Friday night was no different...he was absolutely FABULOUS!
We have a great group of friends that we tailgate with before each concert, and well we all know tailgating is half the fun!
We were patiently waiting for the guys to get it together so we could leave....
Fun times with fun friends!!
Flip cup...I think I am awesome at it...but the reality is I am NOT, but I love playing it!
Blessed with awesome friends!
It was ridiculously hot and humid Friday night, it was non-stop sweating all night long!
Of course we had some lightening and some rain, which resulted in the concert being delayed about an hour! Normally we never ever make it in for the opening acts, but due to the weather delay, we got in there just in time for Cole Swindell...and he was amazing! No doubt he will be a headliner next year!
The night, from start to finish, was an absolute blast! I sang and danced all night, probably drank a little too much, but it was all worth it! We have one more concert to go to...Luke Bryan is in two weeks and I cannot wait!
#truth
This is so true....as I am typing this post Monday evening, I am still "recovering"!
Saturday morning I slept in and it was fabulous and much needed. I headed home around noon, and spent the rest of the day laying on the couch doing a bunch of nothing!
I couldn't help but laugh when I got home and saw that Olivia put "shopkins" on my shopping list...she is OBSESSED!
It was about 8:30 and Mark was done for the night...whoever says 40 is the new 20 is clearly NOT 40! We were definitely feeling our age this weekend!
I went up to bed at 9:15 and next thing I knew it was 1:19p.m. Sunday afternoon...I cannot even tell you the last time I slept that long...it was glorious and I am so thankful my hubby let me sleep in!
It was another lazy day of laying around, eating way too much and just watching TV!
Olivia played for a bit outside....these two are the sweetest little friends!
These nachos Mark made were YUMMY!
And these chocolate chip cookies were even YUMMIER!
It was another early night for us!
Monday it was Mark's turn to sleep in, I got up did laundry, cleaned up from the weekend, ran to the grocery store, made meatballs, and got things ready for the week!
We really had a GREAT weekend....and we are thankful for the extra day to rest and recover! I am already looking forward to next weekend...AJ has his first football game and its the start of the NFL season...doesn't get much more perfect than that! And Mark has the whole weekend off....BONUS!!!!
Be sure to check back tomorrow, I'll be sharing some of my favorite clothing for the fall!!!
Thanks for stopping by today!
What a great weekend! Glad the concert was fun!!
ReplyDeleteThe concert was fantastic! Hope you enjoyed your weekend !
DeleteHa! Love your "recovering" quotes!
ReplyDeleteTuesday morning....still recovering! Have a great week Laura !!!
DeleteDefinitely can't party like i use to! I suck at flip cup....but that got me excited for tailgating at Aggie football this coming weekend. Hope you have a great week!
ReplyDeleteI too suck at flip cup, but in the moment of the game I think I own it! Have a great week my friend !!!!
DeleteYou guys sure party every weekend, and all the drinking and sleeping all the time and laying around, and you have 5 kids, wow talk about unproductive!
DeleteHello anonymous....party every weekend...not so much. Most weekends we are at either the football field or the baseball field...and we love it!!! Yes we have 5 kids, two of which are all grown up;). Unproductive....I would have to disagree with you on that one, we have found a way to balance it all and make our life and our family work! I will never apologize for sleeping in extra late a few times a year! During the week I am up at 530 pretty much every single day, and I have said this before I am lucky my kids are sleepers. I will never complain or call myself unproductive because my kids sleep until 10 on the weekends ;). I always appreciate comments, however to make such ridiculous statements that we are non stop partiers, drinkers and are unproductive is just a bit uncalled for!!
DeleteWhat a lovely post.
ReplyDeleteI love good nachos!!! Looks like you had a fun weekend!
ReplyDeleteNachos are the best! im getting super excited for Christmas pajamas to arrive soon!!!!
DeleteWhy do you never show pics of your older kids? Do they live with you or are they away at college?
ReplyDeleteThey are both still living home, going to school local. My oldest son in in many of the pictures I share , and as for my oldest daughter, she is almost 23, is busy with her own life and rarely is willing to pose for pictures for me ;).
DeleteIf you look back over your posts, there are several where drinking and sleeping in are mentioned. Regardless of how productive you think you are (and might truly be), you are coming across like you don't have a lot of motivation. Maybe do a "day in the life"post to show people how busy you are? I sleep in too sometimes! If you have a husband who is willing to take the reigns, why not? But maybe don't mention it quite so often. :)
ReplyDeleteIf people want to judge me for drinking socially and sleeping in, than shame on them...My normal "day in the life" is probably like everyone else out there, wake up, make beds , unload the dishwasher, get up the kids, pack lunchboxes, drop them to school, come home clean, do laundry, sneak in a shower, try and make it to the gym, wait for the kids to come home, do homework, cook dinner, drive all over to activities, home to shower and put them all to bed:) We had a great summer this year, packed with lots of fun things, and my kids were with their dad for 3 weeks, so yes we made the most of it! I do appreciate your comments, thank you for taking the time to not only read but comment. Have a great day
DeleteGirl, it looks like y'all had so much fun!!!! I loved all of your IG pics over the weekend!!!!
