Show And Tell Tuesday

Happy Tuesday Girls!

Today I am linking up with Andrea for Show and Tell Tuesday...and today we are telling about our personal styles!

I feel like my style is mainly yoga pants and t-shirts...my basic mom uniform!  HA!!!  Most days I am home, and on those days comfort is an absolute MUST!  I am not that person that can just be hanging home, cleaning, or just hanging out on the couch watching TV in jeans...jeans are not comfortable for me and they are NOT my favorite thing to wear!  I have tried pretty much every single jean out there, even those crazy expensive ones, and my favorites are the GAP girlfriend jeans...I love them, well as much as I can love jeans!  It pains me to spend $80 on a pair of jeans, so I only ever buy them if they are on sale or if I have a coupon.  If you are looking for some pretty cool "mom" jeans, go check them out.

These are my faves!

Comfy clothes just make me happy, and I love love love my Zella capris.  I have had a few pair of the leggings, and they are so long, and I am just not a fan...but the capris...they are my FAVORITES!  I have the black ones, but I love all the fun prints.  I have quite a few pair, again they are a bit pricey, so I will only buy them when they are on sale!  If you are looking for some awesome comfy leggings and capris, you can check the Zella out here

In the cooler months, you can pretty much find me in some leggings, and a long tunic top...super comfortable, yet I feel put together.  I can throw on a super cute necklace and my UGGS and head out for errands!  My favorite leggings are the Hue Ultra Wide Waistband leggings, and the grey ones are my favorite!  You can find them here .  I have had the same pair of grey ones for almost two years now, and they have held up AWESOME!!!  I hate it when you wear leggings, and you can see your skin though them..I definitely don't have that with these!  If you need a great pair of leggings check them out.

I was never really a fan of wearing shorts...however since we have moved and it is just HOT here pretty much all the time, shorts are a definite must have here!  I am definitely NOT one of those moms that can pull off the short 3 inch shorts, but I am loving the 5 inch shorts from JCrew Factory.  I was at the outlet a few weeks ago and picked up quite a few pairs, and I love them.  I have never ad the chino shorts from JCrew, so I cannot compare the quality, but so far I am totally loving these, and they don't break the bank!  If you are looking for super cute shorts, that aren't too short, check out the 5 inch from JCrew Factory here  I got the plaid ones, and they have been on major repeat over here!

Lately I have been LOVING me some graphic tees....I have found the best little shops through Instagram and have ordered some really cute ones over the last few months.  Nordstrom also has some super cute ones as well!  If I am not wearing a graphic tee, I LOVE LOVE LOVE my V-neck layering tees from JCrew factory!  You can check them out here

I am a flip flop girl for sure!  Even when we lived in Charlotte I wore my flip flops pretty much year round!

I have told you guys many times before of my love for these Tory Burch Flip-Flops.  I have had the black ones for about two years now and I just recently ordered these khaki colored ones.  I wear them pretty much everyday!  They are great for the pool and the beach, and are super cute to throw on with some jeans or shorts and run some errands.

I also love love love my Tory Burch Miller Sandals , I have them in the sand patent and the gold and wear them ALL THE TIME!  I know these are a little pricey for flip-flops, but I have had mine for 2 and 3years and they still look GREAT!  They are so easy to just throw on!  They are definitely a staple in my closet!

I got my first pair of Jack Rogers last year...at first I wasn't sure about them, but once I broke tem in, they quickly became my favorites.  I got the platinum color and they go with everything!  I am usually always wearing one of these flip flops!

I do buy some trendy pieces here and there, but won't spend a lot of money on pieces like that.  I don't mind spending $200 on a pair of shoes I will wear for years, to me it is worth it.

So that is pretty much my style...nothing too exciting...but it works for me.  I am all about being comfortable, and dressing appropriately for my age, but still trying to look somewhat cute!  If it was acceptable to go out in public in my jammies, trust me I would:)  You guys know how much I love a great pair of PJs!

Thanks for stopping by today!  Can't wait to read through everyone's personal style today!  See you back here tomorrow!

Show & Tell Tuesday

Happy Tuesday Ladies!

I feel like it has been FOREVER since I last blogged!  That first week back after a long break is always rough for us!

Today I am linking up with Andrea for "Show & Tell Tuesday"...today we are talking about if we had our own talk show and who we would love to have on and interview!

Be sure you guys link up too!

I have been known to be somewhat of a "Chatty Cathy", I absolutely LOVE talking to people, and I think having my own talk show would be fantastic!  And I admit, I love watching talk shows, I have even loved an episode or two of Jerry Springer...ha!

If I was to have my very own talk show, it would be some type of NFL talk show...I know weird right!!!  I am a HUGE football fan, I get super sad when football season ends, and well my favorite day of the year is the very first NFL game of the season.  I have my favorite teams...love the JETS and the Panthers, but I really do love everything about the NFL and have lots of different players, from various teams that I just love.

I would love the chance to interview players and coaches, and I would also love to interview the wives and families of the players and coaches.

Often times we look at athletes and think they have such an amazing life, and I am sure for the most part they do, however I would imagine it is so hard on not only the players and coaches, but their wives and children when they are away from home so much.  I am sure the sacrifices are huge, and I would love the chance to talk to them and see how they make it all work.

I also love hearing the stories, of the players, who had nothing more than a dream growing up, and I love hearing how their hard work paid off for them.

So if I could have a talk show, you would see me on ESPN , the NFL Network or Sports Center, interviewing football players....to me that would be just awesome!

Can't wait to read about everyone else's talk shows:)

Hoping to get my butt in gear this week and stay consistent with blogging!  Thanks for stopping by today!

Show & Tell Tuesday

Happy Tuesday Ladies!

Today I am linking up with Andrea for "Show & Tell Tuesday"!

Today we are sharing what our life's "mixed tape" would be!  How fun right!!!

I love music, and I just love when I find a song, that is just perfect for how I am feeling or what I am thinking!  There is something so awesome about music!

So here are the songs that you would find on my "mixed tape"

BON JOVI....IT'S MY LIFE

I am a huge Bon Jovi fan...I mean I loved them back when I was in middle school and I love them just as much, if not more now!  This would definitely be the first song on my life's mixed tape.  Over the years I have learned that making everyone out there happy is just downright impossible, I've learned that it's my life, and I need to live it and do what's right for me!  And seriously...has JBJ not gotten better looking with age!!!  Love him!

BON JOVI...LIVIN' ON A PRAYER
You guys...I seriously love me some Bon Jovi!

We've got to hold on to what we've got
It doesn't make a difference if we make it or not
We've got each other and that's a lot for love
We'll give it a shot

In my life I have learned that things may not always go as planned, but as long as you have someone who has your back and loves you, it's all going to be ok!

TAYLOR SWIFT...SHAKE IT OFF
Again, I have learned in life, haters are gonna hate...and you have to just shake it off!

CYNDI LAUPER....GIRLS JUST WANNA HAVE FUN
Life is crazy, sometimes good, sometimes, bad, but at the end of the day, I just wanna have fun in my life!

OZZY OSBOURNE...CRAZY TRAIN

Because most days of my life I feel like I am on the crazy train for sure!

RACHEL PLATTEN...FIGHT SONG
And this song would round out my mix tape ....I love everything about it and feel like it pertains to us all!

Can't wait to check out everyone else's mix tape lineup today!

Be sure to check back tomorrow to hear a bit about our life lately....spoiler...it's been nothing too exciting!

Show And Tell Tuesday

Happy Tuesday Ladies!

Today I am linking up with Andrea for "Show And Tell Tuesday", you should link up too!

Today is all about Pinterest, and I am probably like the only one out there that doesn't really do Pinterest.  If I am being honest, the whole thing intimidates me!  When people talk about pinning, I have no clue what that means.  The only thing I have ever really seen on Pinterest are quotes, usually Pinterest comes up if I am looking for quotes.  I love a good quote, it's amazing when I find a quote that exactly says what I am thinking or feeling.

I feel like I spend way too much time on social media and such and I know if I get on Pinterest I will most likely spend way too much time on it, Mark will get annoyed and nothing good will come of it:)  I know so many people get awesome craft ideas and room décor from there, but again, I would just be so overwhelmed and well it just wouldn't be good.  So I don't have much to show you of my Pinterest pins, well because I don't have any, however I am going to share some of my favorite quotes with you all today!

Show & Tell Tuesday

Happy Tuesday Ladies!
The kids head back to school tomorrow, so we are enjoying our last day of break today!  Today I am linking up with Andrea , for "Show & Tell Tuesday"...this is definitely one of my favorite link ups!

Today we are starting things off by kind of "re-introducing" ourselves, telling a bit about us, and sharing any goals and resolutions we have for the upcoming here!
I did a post yesterday about my goals for January, you can read it here , I decided on monthly goals this year instead of one big resolution!
Most of you "know" me, but for those of you that are new over here, I am 41 (YIKES) years old, married to be a pretty great guy, and a mom to 5 kiddos...Brooke 23, Harrison 20, Jack 13, AJ 12 and Olivia 7.    Here is a quick little "get to know me"....
I became a mom when I was just 18 years old...when Brooke was 2 we got married, and went on to have 4 more kids!  Shortly after I had Olivia I went through a divorce, and though our divorce was pretty friendly, it was still a very rough time in my life.  A single mom to 5 is probably the most unappealing thing to any man!  However...I was fortunate enough to meet Mark, the whole 5 kid thing never phased him....fast forward and we have now been together 6 years, and will celebrate 4 years of marriage in April!  I count my blessings and thank God every single day for the life that I have....I have healthy wonderful children, a husband who is down right awesome, and an ex-husband who, even in divorce, never walked away from his responsibilities.  Life is not perfect, but it's pretty damn close to it!
We just recently moved from NC to FL....I am definitely still adjusting, but each day it gets a little easier!  With having 3 young kiddos, our life is definitely full and busy pretty much all the time!  Most weekends are spent at some type of ball field, and we wouldn't have it any other way.  We love watching the kids do their thing!  When we aren't running all over creation with the kids, we love date nights, weekend get a ways, and just hanging home watching TV.  We are pretty simple and low key!
That's my quick little "get to know me" version!  Thanks for stopping by today!  Be sure to check back tomorrow, I will be sharing our weekend wrap-up.

Show & Tell Tuesday

Happy Tuesday Girls!

Today I am linking up with Andrea for "Show & Tell Tuesday"...be sure you grab the graphic and link up too!

Today we are talking about the best gift we ever received.  As I was thinking about this post I was thinking back to all the gifts I have received over the years, and I have gotten some really great Christmas gifts over the years, but as I sat here and thought about it, as awesome as some of them were, I wouldn't necessarily caption them as "the best gift I ever received".  Obviously all of my children are what I consider to be amongst the greatest gifts I have ever received, as I am sure many moms out there feel the same way!  But for me, the greatest gift I ever received was finding love again after my divorce.

When I got married back in 1995 I just assumed it would be forever...that is what marriage is supposed to be.  We were young when we got married, already had a child, but we made it work, had 4 more kids and were married for 15 years...certainly not the lifetime I thought it was going to be.  I've told my story before, and our divorce wasn't bitter or hate filled, we just truly grew apart and we decided that apart was better for us than together.  Even after divorce we are still friends, we talk, we co-parent well, it really did all turn out ok.

While going through the divorce I was totally focused on my children, Olivia was still just a baby and my days were filled with taking care of my kids, and I was pretty content at that time, if all I had in my life moving forward were my children I would be OK.  I never thought about trying to meet anyone, and seriously who in their right mind would even consider getting involved with a divorced 35 year old woman with 5 kids...and then on December 29, 2009 my life would forever change...

This is so true....

The very first night I met Mark, I just knew that I would fall in love with this man.  I remember sitting there on our first "date", talking about the fact that I had 5 kids...and it just didn't phase him..not in the least!  Our relationship moved pretty quickly...and lots of people had an opinion.  However I totally followed my heart, and I am so glad I did.  I quickly introduced him to the kids, I mean for him to really get a picture of who I was, he had to see me as a mom.  I feel so fortunate that Mark was the first and only person I dated after divorce...fate...yes I believe in it.

I cannot begin to even put into words the love I have for this man.  He goes out of his way every single day to make me feel special.  I couldn't even ask for a better man to be by my side raising my children with.  He is patient, loving, kind, forgiving, thoughtful, generous...and so many more things...everything I could possibly want in a partner he has.

Life isn't always easy, at times it can be downright hard to blend families, and though we have had some "bumps" in the road, we always got through it, made it work, and now we share a beautiful life together.

I know I talk a lot about how wonderful Mark is, and I am sure many people probably get sick of hearing how wonderful my husband is...but he really is.  He not only fell in love with me, but my 5 children, if you could see him with my children, you would never in a million years believe he is just a "step-dad", he couldn't love these kids more if they were his own flesh and blood.  Our happiness is so important to him.  He knew right from the start the friendly relationship I had with my ex-husband, and he was 100% supportive of it, it was then I knew how amazing this guy was.  He loves my kids so much and their happiness always comes first.  It isn't always easy for him, you know having my ex-husband here in our home, spending the night, sitting around talking about old times, but Mark loves these kids so much, he does it, because it means everything to them.  I praise him a lot because he DESERVES it.  I am not trying to paint a picture of a perfect life, because our life is far from perfect, we argue, we fight, we get pretty pissed off at each other, but at the end of the day our love runs deep and we always work through whatever life throws at us.

So as I sit here and reflect on all the gifts I have received in my life time, the absolute greatest would have to be my husband, being able to find love and happiness again after so much heartbreak and sadness has been the greatest gift.

LOVE...the greatest gift!

Can't wait to read about everyone's "best gift ever received" today!  See you back here tomorrow!

Show & Tell Tuesday...Christmas Decorations

Happy Tuesday Girls!

Today I am linking up with Andrea for "Show & Tell Tuesday"...y'all need to link up too!

Today we are showing our Christmas decorations!  I LOVE these kind of link ups...I always love seeing how beautiful everyone has their homes decorated, especially for Christmas!

I am still trying to get used to the fact that it is like 86 degrees here (wish I was kidding, but I am not), and Christmas is in like 2 weeks!  It has definitely felt weird, making the inside all cozy for Christmas, and I step outside and it's a darn heat wave!

Anyway....Christmas is my absolute favorite time of year!  I love everything about the season...the decorations and all the magic that comes along with having little ones at Christmas.  I dread the day, and I mean DREAD the day when my last one stops believing in Santa Claus...I mean how depressing right???

My most treasured and favorite Christmas decoration, my grandmother's jewel tree, I don't have it with me here right now:(  It didn't go on the truck with the movers, and our cars were so jam packed and the tree is so fragile, so we left it with Harrison, and he will be bringing it when he comes!

This tree means the world to me.  My great-grandmother made it, and it's all costume jewelry making this tree...as a little girl I would just stare at this...and now I am so thankful to have this!  I can't wait for it to get back to me!

Every year since as far back as I can remember we have always gotten a real Christmas tree.  It was always so great loading everyone in the car, heading to the tree farm and picking out the "perfect" tree!  Well, this year we decided to get an artificial tree, I wasn't sure how I felt about it at first, but I am LOVING it!  No mess, no needles everywhere, no watering, no sap...LOVE LOVE LOVE it!  I couldn't believe how crazy expensive artificial trees were..holy sticker shock!  I have my eye on one that I LOVE and I am hoping that I can snag it for super cheap right after Christmas!  Since spending hundreds just wasn't in my budget right now, I went to Target, got a great deal, and am pretty darn happy with our tree this year!

I just love sitting at night, watching Hallmark movies, staring at our tree!

We have a few touches of Christmas in our eating area!  That Santa on my table I have had for 20 years, and it is still one of my favorites to pull out each year!

The Christmas cookie jar was my grandmothers, and I love that I have it!  So special to me

This little wooden calendar is Olivia's favorite!  Every morning right after she finds the Elf, she runs over to this little calendar and switches the numbers!  She is all about the countdown to Christmas!

I love my snowbabies!

We through a few things Christmas on this shelf, Buddy happened to be there with candy that morning for the kids!

I love this little centerpiece on my table.  I got those adorable burlap trees from the dollar section at Target.

We don't have a mantle, so I am still trying to figure out what to do with the stockings this year!  Can't wait to see everyone's decorations this year!

Have a great day

"Show & Tell Tuesday".... A Day In The Life...

Happy Tuesday Girls!  Today I am linking up with Andrea for "Show and Tell Tuesdays"....be sure you are linking up too!

Today we are sharing "A Day in the Life"....I see lots of bloggers do these posts...and I always love them, but I have never thought to do one, well frankly because my day to day life isn't all that interesting!

I tried documenting as much of my day yesterday as I could remember...our "day to day" has been a bit out of whack lately with moving and the kids just starting back to school this week!

My alarm went off at 6:45am and first thing I do when I wake up...head straight to my coffee pot...

I love sitting outside before the kids get up enjoying my coffee...I have to admit I am totally missing my chilly mornings back in NC...it was every bit of like 85 degrees at 7 am this morning!

The little boys started school yesterday, so after my coffee it was in to get their lunches packed!

While they are eating breakfast, I usually head over to my desk, change my calendar and glance over my planner....

Then I always open the blinds and let the light in....

While the kids are getting ready I usually try and get a load of laundry started...

Then make the bed....

Olivia made her bed

Jack waiting to leave...

AJ...well just being AJ....

Around 8:40 we loaded into the car and headed to drop the kids off to school...

Mark walking the boys in on their first day....normally, we will just drop them off in car line.

After dropping the boys off, we headed over to the elementary school and got Olivia all registered and ready to start Tuesday...

We got back home around 9:40 and we did a little yard work outside...

After doing some yard work we headed out for a few errands and some new school supplies for Olivia....we got back home around 2:30 and Mark took a nap, Olivia played quietly in her room and I enjoyed some Hallmark Christmas movies!

Took some chicken out for dinner....

Then sat outside on the porch for a few minutes before it was time to head and get the boys from the bus stop!

Anxiously waiting for the boys to get off the bus and hear all about their first day!

We got back from the bus stop around 4:45 and it was snacks and talk about their first day.

5:00 couldn't come fast enough...I hate Mondays...and this wine was exactly what I was needing.

While the kids were playing mark was whipping up some homemade chicken nuggets for dinner....

While he was cooking...we set the table...

We sat down to eat around 6:00....the nuggets were so yummy!

Dishwasher loaded after dinner and all the kiddos getting showered and ready for dessert and bed!

7:30 and my sweet little girl in bed for 30 minutes of TV time!

And an everyday occurrence over here...my boys beating the crap out of each other!

Settling down to watch our Panthers!

Ending our night watching our Panthers...hoping to be 7-0!

Getting ready to turn my phone off for the night and enjoy the game!

So there was a little peak into my daily life....normally I have errands and more going on during the day, but with just moving and having Mark and the kids home we have been out of whack!

I certainly don't live a glamorous life, but I absolutely love the life I get to lead everyday!

Be sure to check back tomorrow...I'll be sharing with you some of my favorite shoes for fall...though it's 98 degrees here everyday and I'll probably be wearing flip flops for ever!

Have a great day!
