What's Up Wednesday

Happy Wednesday Friends!

Today I am linking up with Mix and Match Mama , The Larson Lingo , and Pinterest Told Me To for "What's Up Wednesday"...you guys should link up too!

WHAT WE'RE EATING THIS WEEK:
We will be eating all things Thanksgiving....turkey, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, green bean casserole and LOTS and LOTS of desserts!

WHAT I'M REMINISCING ABOUT:
This week I am reminiscing about holidays past with my family, this year it is just us, and I am definitely thinking about all my family back in Charlotte.

WHAT I'M LOVING:
I am loving that it has been cooler here this week, we have had temps in the 70s, a nice breeze, and chilly mornings and nights!

WHAT WE'VE BEEN UP TO:
The kids have been home from school this week for break, so we have been up to taking the Christmas stuff out!  So much fun!

WHAT I'M DREADING:
I am dreading addressing my holiday cards.  I love sending them out, but UGH I hate addressing them all.

WHAT I'M WORKING ON:
I have not bought one single Christmas gift yet, I am currently working on my lists of all I need to buy!

WHAT I'M EXCITED ABOUT:
This is my favorite time of year, even though it's "different" this year, I am still super excited about the Christmas season!

WHAT I'M WATCHING/READING:
Currently I am not reading anything, however we are pretty much watching Hallmark 24/7 around here!

WHAT I'M LISTENING TO:
I am a HUGE Luke Bryan fan, I also LOVE Little Big Town, currently I am listening to and LOVING the new song "Home Alone Tonight"...if you love country music you need to check this song out!

WHAT I'M WEARING:
The kids have been home all week, we haven't had anywhere to go, so it's a lot of pajama wearing over here!  And I LOVE it!

WHAT I'M DOING THIS WEEKEND:
I am not sure exactly what our plans are for this weekend, but I am hoping to at least start some holiday shopping.

WHAT I'M LOOKING FORWARD TO NEXT MONTH:
Obviously I am looking forward to Christmas, but I am more excited to see Harrison!

WHAT ELSE IS NEW:
Not too much is new over here.  We are settling in nicely to our new home, and finding our "groove" here in Florida!

BONUS QUESTION:
WHAT'S MY FAVORITE CHRISTMAS TRADITION:
The traditions during the holidays are definitely my favorite, more so than all the gifts and everything.  My most favorite tradition is one that my grandmother started many years ago.  We all sit around on the floor on Christmas Eve, and I (I volunteered one year, and I have been doing it ever since) read 'Twas the Night Before Christmas", we all bring something, red or green, not more than $5, wrap it, and every time the word "the" is read you pass the gift.  It is really so much fun and at the end of the story we all open our gifts!  Over the years I have gotten Twizzlers, a six pack of Coke, green tic-tacs, pine tree car air fresheners...just to name a few.  It is seriously so much fun.  Last year we changed it up a bit, we all brought $5 gift cards to like McDonalds, Dunkin Donuts, Starbucks, places like that, my mom bought a $50 VISA gift card, when we all got to my mom's, I wrapped all the gift cards, so they were all wrapped identically.  It was so much fun passing them around and it was so exciting to see who got the big prize!

This is nothing major, but over the years it is something that we look forward to each and every year.  I hope that down the road, I am still doing this tradition with my grandchildren!

Hope you all have a Blessed Thanksgiving!

Tuesday Talk...My New Gig

Happy Tuesday Ladies!

I am sure many of you are spending today cooking and getting ready for Thanksgiving!  Our neighbors invited us to spend Thanksgiving with them this year.  I am so happy that our new neighbors are so friendly and have invited us to spend the day with them, their family and friends!

I mean....you don't have to ask me twice:)  Don't worry, we are bringing a few side dishes and some desserts to the Thanksgiving dinner!

Back in March when I quit my job, I had thought about doing something that I could do from home, around my kid's schedules, etc.  I have looked into A LOT of different things.  I have done Stella and Dot and Scentsy in the past and was looking for a more "consumable" product to get involved with.  I spoke to a few different people about a few different companies.  I have always been blown away with the success stories of Rodan & Fields, but after lots of thought, it just wasn't for me.  Through social media, I found Ariele and her cute little boutique .  I have ordered a few things from her, we became "friends" on social media and I started seeing all her posts about Plexus...of course I was intrigued so I spent a good part of my day one day just "stalking" through her facebook and website to see what it was all about!  She has had HUGE success, and I could tell from what I saw she truly believed in the products, that was so important to me.  I had contacted her over the summer and we talked about it, and just when I thought I was ready to "do it", for whatever reason, I didn't.  So for the past few months I have just been sitting here on the sidelines, reading about everyone else and their success!  I thought to myself, what the heck am I doing, that could be ME!  So I shot Ariele a text and I was signed up a few minutes later!

I am still waiting on all my materials to arrive, and I am super excited to get this started and see where it takes me!

I can assure you this blog will not become me just pushing my new business venture, I am not like that at all!  However I am excited about this new journey, and am looking forward to sharing with you all how it works for me and our family!

See you guys back here tomorrow!

Weekend Wrap-Up

Happy Monday Ladies!

Pretty much how I feel on a Monday, however I am super glad the kiddos have the entire week off for Thanksgiving Break!

Our weekend was pretty low key over here, but I am NOT complaining about that!

Ignore all the dust from my car, but ugh look at the temperature from Friday...girls it has been so warm here!  This week looks to be a bit cooler and I couldn't be happier!

I picked up a pack of these at Target Friday, and I forgot how much I love them!

After school Olivia was wanted to feel comfy and cozy, so she grabbed my blardigan , smart girl:)  If you have someone on your holiday gift list that loves comfort this would be a great gift for sure!

After pizza for dinner, this girl enjoyed an ice cream sandwich for dessert!

And by 9, mark was passed out!  He slept and I watched Hallmark movies!  Perfect Friday night!

Saturday Mark had to work, so the kids and I hung out in the morning not doing too much of anything!

I decided to get dressed, run to Target and then get my nails done!  It was nice!

I got home, and Olivia had been watching TV in my room, I was not really wanting to watch SpongeBob, but I was too darn lazy to get up and look for the remote to change the channel!

I picked up this cranberry candle from Kohls, and it smells AMAZING!!!!

I had my new favorite drink for lunch with a yummy sandwich!

Olivia has been wearing bathing suit bottoms and tank tops daily, she says its the most perfect outfit to practice gymnastics in!  Gosh I sure love this girl!

After dinner Saturday night, we broke out the pre-cut reindeer sugar cookies!  Always fun and so easy!

I picked up the cutest little basket from the dollar section at Target, I wasn't sure what I was going to use it for, but I am loving it for my K-Cups!

And these burlap trees also came home with me...they are so adorable, and they were only $3!

Saturday night Mark went to bed early and the boys and I stayed up past midnight watching Hallmark movies.  I love time with just them, I love they love Christmas movies as much as I do!  It was a perfect Saturday night!

Sunday morning we woke up early...we decided to this family needed to get back to church.  If I am being honest, we have been awful about church over the past few years.  We never really took the time to find the "right" one for us.  And we never made it a priority!  Mark and I have been talking for about a month now about how we really want to find a church for us.

We went Sunday morning, and sadly we just weren't "feeling" it.  We came home Sunday and did a ton of research, and we are super excited to try another one this week.  From what we have seen online and read, it appears it is exactly what we are looking for.  We are looking for groups for our kids to get involved with, and Mark and I are looking to be involved in groups also!  I will say that even though the church we visited Sunday wasn't for us, it really felt so good going, listening to the pastor.  I am definitely excited to find a church home for us!

These two were pretty excited to go!

After church we came home and I almost immediately changed back into my pajamas!  I love a lazy Sunday!

On the couch, coffee in hand and football was on the TV....PURE PERFECTION!

This girl ate some noodle soup!

And Mark made chili...his chili is the absolute BEST!

I spent the rest of the day in my jammies, eating chili, watching football, enjoying being home with my family!

It was a perfect weekend!  I feel like I have been through so much change in the past month, and at times have been feeling pretty down.  It was a nice relaxing weekend and I realized though my location has changed, my life is still as blessed and amazing as it was back in Charlotte!  Each day, I am learning to love our new home a bit more!  Thank you to everyone who commented and shared ideas with me last week about starting new holiday traditions!  I loved reading all the ideas, and am so thankful to all of you for all your kind words during this tough transition for me!

Have a great Monday!  Be sure to check back tomorrow, I am sharing with you guys something I am really excited about starting!

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday Girls!

Today I am linking up with Andrea , Erika and Narci and sharing my Friday Favorites.  Be sure to grab the graphic and link up too!

ONE
I am not normally a breakfast eater, but I have been forcing myself to eat breakfast everyday this week.  My breakfast all week has consisted of coffee and cinnamon raisin toast...it has definitely been a favorite all week!

TWO

This girl was home sick Monday and Tuesday and it definitely was NOT a favorite....

....but her perking up and laughing was definitely a FAVORITE!

THREE
I mentioned last week that this necklace was probably going to be my favorite...it was delivered last Friday afternoon and it is a favorite for sure!  This whole outfit is a favorite actually!  Necklace / Jeans / Shirt / Booties .  I am totally loving the "girlfriend" jeans from the GAP, and the booties...super comfortable...love them!  Lots of favorites right here in one outfit!

FOUR
3 favorites all in one again...coffee, my back porch, and my awesome new pizza pajamas!

How fun are these pajamas???  I couldn't seem to find them online at Target, but if you need some cute pizza jammies, head to your local Target and grab yourself a pair!  These would also make a great holiday gift..only $21.99!

FIVE
I ordered these for the Keurig and both Mark and I really LOVE them!  We love changing up our morning coffee from time to time!

SIX
The kids have the entire week off next week for Thanksgiving...not having to wake up early, pack lunches, do homework...definitely a big favorite over here!

SEVEN
Every night a glass of wine is my favorite.  I only drink one glass each night, sometimes on the weekend I have 2 or 3, but I just love a glass of wine to kind of unwind!  I snagged my awesome wine glasses this summer during the anniversary sale for a great price!  I love them, they are simple and I love the "A" on them.  I wanted to "jazz" them up a little bit, so the other night, I got out some glue, glitter and sealer and added some sparkle to the base of my glasses.  I am loving how they turned out...they are not perfect, but I am pretty happy with them!  Now I want to put glitter on everything!

EIGHT
I saw this on IG the other day...and I am sure most of you can relate to this!  UPS coming when Mark is at work is definitely a favorite of mine!

NINE
I was going through some pictures for my upcoming post for AJ's birthday, and seriously this might be my FAVORITE picture of him...so sweet!

So there are my favorites for the week.  Can't wait to read everyone's Friday Favorites today!  Hope you all have a great weekend.  Be sure to check back Monday to see what we were up to this weekend!

New Holiday Traditions

Happy Thursday Ladies!

As many of you know, I have been struggling a bit with the whole move!  It has definitely been the hardest on me, but each day it definitely gets easier, and seeing how happy Mark and the kids are totally helps me so much!  So much of my happiness comes from them, so seeing them all so happy, makes me happy!

The holiday season has always been my favorite time of year!  Thanksgiving has always been a BIG deal to my mom, it's her favorite holiday, and every year, for the past 40 years, I have spent the holidays with my mom!  I knew when we decided to make this move, that everything was going to change, and that included how we celebrated the holidays.  When we moved from NJ to NC, it definitely sucked not having my extended family around for the holidays, but I had my mom, my brother, my sister in law, my niece, my nephew and my brood...so it was fine!  This will be the first time in my whole life that I won't be spending the holidays with my family...and it is hard, I mean real hard!

I love so many things about the holidays, the decorations, the food, the gifts, but what I truly love most of all are the traditions..those things we do year after year, never get tired of, and look so forward to each year!  I love that as much as my kids love getting presents Christmas morning, they truly have come to love tradition also, and I hope they carry some of these things on with their own families one day!

Over the years we have definitely made changes to our traditions, some we have carried on and some have changed due to moving and divorce.  We have been so fortunate that even in divorce, Kenny and I have always spent Christmas together with the kids.  Now trust me, it isn't always easy having your ex at your house for 4 days, spending the holidays with you and your new husband, but hey our kids never asked for this, and we have always been sure to keep THEM a priority, and do what is best for THEM, NOT us!  Sadly this year, because of the distance from FL to NJ, he will not be here for Christmas, I was so nervous to tell the kids about this, but they really seemed OK with it.  He will be coming down the week after Christmas, and I know the kids are super excited about that!  I know to many this will sound so odd, but I am so thankful for my ex-husband and the good guy that he is.  In addition to not having Kenny here for the holidays, I also will not be seeing my family for the holidays!  With just moving, and Mark just starting a new job, he just wasn't able to take time off around the holidays, so we will be here, just us, for Thanksgiving and Christmas.  I've shed many tears over this....MANY!

Mark has been so great, he is so supportive, and he totally gets how sad being away from my family makes me.  He is constantly telling me everything will be fine, and we are going to make so many new traditions and wonderful memories, and I know he is right, but it is still tough!

For Thanksgiving, we will continue to wake up and all watch the Macy's parade together, and this year instead of getting dressed and ready to head to my moms, we will stay here, make a turkey dinner and just enjoy being together, and remembering that even though we can't be with our family, we still have so much to be thankful for!  It will be extra hard as this will be the first holiday that I don't have all my kiddos with me...Harrison will be coming for Christmas but not for Thanksgiving.  There will be lots of face timing going on...and I am thankful for technology and being able to still "see" my family!

For the past nine years, a few of the kids would spend the night at my mom's house on Thanksgiving and then she would bring them home Friday morning, and her and I would head out for a day of Christmas shopping. This has always been one of my favorite days of the year.  I love just getting to spend the day with my mom, so I am for sure going to miss that this year!  I have ZERO desire to get out there and look for great deals, I did it more for the time with my mom, rather than the deals I could score.  So I am thinking that this Black Friday, I will probably do some online shopping, but will stay home, in my pajamas all day, with the kids and we will decorate for Christmas.  Our tradition of getting our tree on Saturday will stay the same!

Harrison's birthday is December 9...he will be 20...I am still not sure how that is even possible!  It will be strange not being with him on his birthday!  Again, just something I have to get used to!  Regardless of the move, he would have eventually moved out and this would be the "norm" anyway.

Christmas definitely has me feeling sad!  I love Christmas, and Christmas Eve has always been my favorite day of the year, ever since I was a little girl.  I mean don't get me wrong I love Christmas morning with my kids, but Christmas Eve is just my favorite!  Normally on Christmas Eve my mom comes over, we eat a nice meal, watch Christmas movies and just all hang out together.  This year it will just be us!  I am really going to try and make it as special as possible for everyone!  I am trying hard to not let the kids see how down I am about it all...I don't want to bring them down.

We would always get together with my brother's family and my mom the weekend before Christmas, have a nice dinner and do a gift exchange, I will miss that, and I know the kids will too!

I know the holidays, though they will be different, will still be wonderful, and I am very much looking forward to new traditions, and making new memories with my crew!  .

I love tradition..would love to hear what your favorite holiday tradition with your family is!

Be sure to check back tomorrow for Friday Favorites!

Holiday Gifts...For The Sports Fans

Happy Wednesday Ladies!

Thanksgiving is next week, I still can't believe it!

Today is my Blog Anniversary...ha!  It was November 18, 2014 that I published my first post here on "Kimm's Korner".  I want to say thank you to everyone who has taken the time to read what I have to say each day, I am so thankful for all of you!  Though most of you I haven't "met", I consider you all my friends, and I am so blessed to be a part of this awesome little community here on the internet!

Now...onto todays post...

Girls, I have not bought a single holiday gift yet, not one thing.  I am trying not to stress about it, and know that it will get done!  I work well under pressure!

Today I am sharing some gifts that would be great for all the sports fans in your life!  My boys are crazy about sports, and they love getting "fan" gifts for the holidays and their birthdays!

My hubby loves to golf, and he loves the Detroit Lions, these golf balls are something I know he would love!  Dick's has a great selection of NFL stuff for golf, you can check it all out here .

Football jerseys are something that all my boys LOVE.  They are a bit pricey, so Christmas is a great time for me to get them each one!  AJ already has this Panther jersey, and proudly wears it each week!  I love buying from Fanatics , they have super fast shipping and you earn fan cash with each purchase you make!  You can check out their great selection of youth NFL jerseys here .

Jack unfortunately owns this hat, he wears it all the time, even when it isn't cold out!  You can check out a ton of different hats here , everything from college to professional, and every sport!

We love Tervis cups over here!  My husband has a Detroit Red Wings one that he uses for coffee all the time!  These cups would make a great gift for the sports fan on your list, you could even stuff it with some filler, and throw a gift card in there for their favorite coffee spot!  Great gift!  You can find a huge selection of Tervis cups here .

My kids LOVE a cozy blanket.  Even Mark will always reach for a soft blanket each night while watching TV on the couch.  You can find a great selection of blankets, that also show your team support here .

My hubby is a huge NASCAR fan, and he has quite the collection of cars, you know the ones that AJ begs to play with, but they are not for play!  If you have a NASCAR fan on your gift list, check out all the great collectible cars here .

These are just a few gift ideas for the sports fans in your life...would love to hear if you have a favorite gift to give a sports fan!

Hope you all have a great day!  See you back here tomorrow!  And be sure to check back next Wednesday for some more holiday gift ideas.

You can find my picks for holiday gifts under $50 here .
