Friday Favorites

Happy Friday Ladies!

Today I am linking up with Andrea , Erika and Narci and sharing my Friday Favorites, be sure to grab the graphic and link up too!!

I am so glad it is the weekend, however I am very much looking forward to a "normal" week next week.  The past two weeks between holidays, ice days, two hour delays, and snow days, our schedule is so out of whack, and it's making me CRAZY!!!!

Yesterday we had a snow day...here in the South snow is a BIG deal and the city goes into panic mode when they are calling for snow.  So Wednesday night we got the call at 6pm to cancel school for Thursday for the upcoming storm....the kids were really excited because they were forecasting 4-8 inches...big deal around here...so we went to bed excited...and this is what we woke up to....

Epic snowfail for sure!!!!  Being from the North, I cannot help but laugh that we close school for this trace, and I mean trace, of snow!

Now onto Friday Favorites!

ONE
I LOVE nail polish...and I pretty much wear a neutral color 99% of the time, and if it's not neutral it is usually a very dark color.  OPI and Essie are my two favorite brands of nail polish, and this color, Funny Bunny, is definitely my favorite neutral of all time.  I just love love love it.  If you love a neutral color you should definitely try this!

TWO
I love anything and everything with a monogram...and add pink and gold, and well it is pretty much perfection!  I got this case for my phone in the mail this week, and I am LOVING it!  Thanks to my friend Mandi for telling me where to go to get this!!!

THREE
To me there is nothing better than a great cup of coffee...and this creamer is my absolute favorite.  The perfect addition to my coffee!

FOUR
I love my Keurig and last month we upgraded to this one, and we absolutely LOVE it.  Great coffee maker is definitely a favorite!

We are definitely excited about the weekend...my step daughter is coming to town for a visit...and my sweet Jack will be turning 13 on Sunday!

Hope y'all have a great weekend!!!

Weekend Wrap-Up....Wednesday Edition

Happy Wednesday Ladies!

So true!

Our weather has been so crazy here...last week we got some ice, we missed two days of school and had two days with a delayed opening...tonight they are calling for 3-5 inches, so I am preparing for a snow day tomorrow!

It is Wednesday, and I am finally getting around to our weekend wrap-up...it was a low key weekend, so nothing too exciting went on!

We have been getting A LOT of use out of our deep fryer these days...Friday night we made some donuts!

This girl loves helping make them....she likes eating them more though!

After our donuts she made silly poses for us...yup we had a pretty exciting Friday night!

Saturday morning we slept in, and I mean I woke up at 11:05 and everyone was still asleep, it was quite glorious!

Once everyone rolled out of bed and ate, we got right to cleaning...I have been saying for MONTHS that we need to organize and get rid of stuff, it is one of those projects that I always start and never seem to finish.  Well we made some good progress Saturday, however we still have LOTS to do!

Our day consisted of lots of big black trash bags!

Harrison was less than thrilled when I took everything off the closet floor and just threw it there in the playroom...and then I told him he needed to go through it all and organize it for me...he wasn't happy about it, but he did it...such a good kid!

After we cleaned up we busted out the Shopkins....kept this girl happy for hours!

All's I can say is I am so happy I married a man who loves to cook...lots more fried food coming up!

And these biscuits, well if you love Red Lobster biscuits, you need to buy the Red Lobster mix, I mean they taste exactly the same...I seriously think I ate 5!

After dinner and a long day of cleaning, we watched some NASCAR....Jack and Mark are over the moon excited that race season is back!

Late Saturday afternoon, Olivia was invited to her BFF's house for a sleep over...she was so so excited...and it was her first sleepover, other than sleeping at my moms.  I texted my girlfriend, and Olivia was happy and having a great time.  The little boys spent the night at their friends house, so we were kid free...and we spent it home in our jammies watching TV....we party hard over here!  Ha!

Well.....at 3:30 A.M., there is a knock at our back door...and it was my girlfriend with Olivia...Olivia woke up and was throwing up...fantastic!!!!  Mark got her settled down and back to bed...I felt so bad for Liv, but even worse for my neighbor...who the heck wants to deal with someone else's kid throwing up in the middle of the night!!!!

So Sunday we spent pretty much all day home.....

Pathetic!

Out like a light!

I guess teenagers don't sleep at sleepovers...Jack slept almost all day

Not a happy camper!

AJ was exhausted all day also.....

And not too long after Jack, he was passed out also!

This pretty much summed up our afternoon....3 sleeping kiddos!

My afternoon consisted of more fried food..I really need to stop!!!

This girl was finally feeling a bit better!

AJ showing Mark how to play some video game....

And of course we had to watch the Daytona 500!

So there you have it...our weekend in a nutshell!  Thanks for stopping by today!  Have a great day!

Tasty Tuesday...A Few of Our Favorite Chicken Dishes

Happy Tuesday Ladies!

Today I am sharing a few of our favorite, easy chicken recipes.  If you have a favorite chicken recipe I would love for you to share it with us!  I am going to try to have a link up for this next week, so everyone can share their recipes too!!

Chicken...we eat A LOT of chicken....and I guess we eat so much of it, because there are so many ways to cook it!  As a mom to 5, you can imagine how crazy hectic our life is, and I am always looking for super easy dinners to whip up for the family!

I am apologizing for the lack of photos, I really need to start remembering to take pics of what I am going to post about!  These are just a FEW of our favorite, easy chicken dinners!!!

CHICKEN WITH POTATOES AND STRING BEANS
5-6 chicken breasts
5-6 red potatoes, quartered
1 lb. fresh string beans
8-10 tabs of butter
1 packet dry Italian Salad Dressing

In a 9x13 baking dish place chicken, potatoes, and string beans, (I usually put my chicken in the middle row and the potatoes and string beans on either side).  Place tabs of butter over the top and sprinkle with the dry salad dressing.  Cover with foil and cook on 350 for about 45 minutes.

I think I originally found this recipe on a Facebook feed, and let me tell you, it is seriously so darn good.  My kids never eat green beans, and they devour them when I make this!  You guys really need to try this!!!!

CHICKEN AND WINE

6 chicken breasts (not thin)
2 cans cream of mushroom soup
1 8oz container sour cream
3/4 soup can full of white cooking wine
paprika

1.  Place chicken breasts in 9x13 baking dish.
2.  Mix soup, sour cream, and cooking wine and pour over chicken.
3.  Sprinkle paprika over the top
4. Cover with foil and bake about one hour or until chicken is done

Serve with rice and enjoy!

My mom made this for us growing up, and it was always a favorite of mine and my brothers...I now make this for my family, and the all LOVE it!  It is delicious!

OVEN FRIED CHICKEN
1/4 cup butter
1/2 cup flour
1 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
3 1/2 pound cut up broiler-fryer chicken

1.  Heat oven to 425.  Melt butter in a 9x13 pan while oven is heating.
2.  Mix flour, paprika, salt and pepper.  Coat chicken with flour mixture (I put it all in a freezer bag and shake the chicken in there).  Place chicken skin side down in pan.
3.  Bake uncovered 30 minutes, turn chicken and bake another 30 minutes, or until chicken is no longer pink.

We make this often at our house, and they love eating it cold the next day!

*recipe and photo from Betty Crocker's cookbook

SMOTHERED CHICKEN

4 boneless chicken breasts
1 teaspoon dried oregano leaves
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/4 teaspoon ground red pepper
1 tablespoon butter
1 medium green bell pepper, thinly sliced
1 medium onion, thinly sliced
1 cup sliced mushrooms
1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1.  Spray nonstick skillet with cooking spray; heat over medium heat. Sprinkle both sides of chicken with oregano, salt, garlic powder, pepper and red pepper.  Cook in skillet 8-10 minutes, turning once, until juice is no longer pink when centers of thickest pieces are cut.  Remove chicken from skillet and keep warm.
2.  Melt butter in skillet over medium heat.  Cook bell pepper and onion in butter, about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally until crisp and tender.  Stir in mushrooms.  Cook 3-5 minutes until veggies are tender.
3.  Place chicken in skillet, spoon veggies over chicken.  Sprinkle cheeses over chicken and vegetables; remove from heat.  Cover and let stand until cheese is melted.

This is another favorite at our house!  If you are looking for something to do with your chicken this week, try one of these!

Be sure to check back tomorrow for my weekend wrap-up...Wednesday edition!  Have a great day and thanks for stopping by today!

Favorite Things Party...Target Edition

Happy Monday Girls!

Today I am linking up with Andrea and Erika for their "Favorite Things Party"...and I am so excited it is all about Target today!  Be sure to grab the graphic and link up too!

And here is the list for the rest of the link ups!

I am sure most of you would agree that Target is probably one of the greatest stores ever of all time!  I love that I can go in there, get groceries, things for my house, clothes and grab some Starbucks on the way out...I mean pure GENIUS!!!!

I seriously have so many favorite things from Target I am not even sure where to begin...talk about overwhelming!  Below you will find just a few of my favorite things to get at Target...and trust me when I tell you I listed probably 100 things!  Ha!

I usually order my coffee online directly from Keurig, but I am not always as on top of my game as I would like to be, so when I need coffee, I always get it at Target, they always have the BEST selection for the Keurig!

I always buy my laundry detergent, dryer sheets and my UnStopables from Target.  I also buy toilet paper, paper towels and sandwich baggies from Target too!

I found this eye cream there a few weeks ago, and I am really loving it!  The price is great...I am excited to try more products from this line!

All my kids LOVE yogurt, Olivia probably eats 2 or 3 a day, and always brings one in her lunchbox to school...this Hello Kitty and Frozen yogurts are her favorite, they don't taste any different than normal Yoplait yogurt, but you know when you are 6, it is all about the packaging...and Target is the only place I can find the Frozen and Hello Kitty, my local grocery store only ever has the Ninja Turtle packs!  Sidenote...AJ could care less about the packaging and he is perfectly fine with eating "girly" yogurt!

I think Target has a really cute selection of clothing for little girls.  I get almost all of Olivia's leggings there, she loves to be comfy, and leggings are her "thing", I love buying them at Target, I mean $6 a pair...just can't beat it.

We also love getting jammies there too...scored these for $3.48!!!

I love cute notecards and thank you notes...Target never disappoints!

Anytime I am looking for something new, cute and inexpensive for our house, I can always find something I love, like this ceramic owl, at Target!

And my favorite part of Target, while I am shopping for all my favorite things, I can enjoy my favorite drink!  Win Win in my book!

Can't wait to read what everyone else's favorites at Target are!  Be sure to check back tomorrow, I will be sharing some of our favorite chicken recipes for Tasty Tuesday!

Here in the South, we don't get a ton of snow, well Monday night we had a bit of an ice storm, we had a day off from school Tuesday...winter weather, only because it is VERY RARE, is a favorite of mine (mind you when I lived in NJ it was absolutely NOT a favorite of mine!)

Hot chocolate and marshmallows to warm her up!

AJ less than thrilled that I was taking his picture...but even with that "mom seriously don't take my picture" look, he is still a favorite of mine!

My AJ is a very good little athlete, and he has been playing travel baseball for the past 4 years, and baseball season is my favorite time of year, there is nothing I love more than spending my weekends watching my little boy out there on the field doing what he loves!  I got this shirt a few years ago and it is still one of my FAVORITES to wear to his games!

Baseball mom....love it!

And seriously...how cute is the back of this shirt!!

EIGHT
Ok...so I went and bought myself this watch....I couldn't pass it up..it was on sale and I had some Nordstrom notes so I got a really good deal...and I am loving it! You can find this exact watch here , it isn't on sale anymore, but even at full price it is a great watch!
