Happy Wednesday Ladies! Hope you are all having a great week so far! With just getting back from the beach and my kids being gone, I am losing track of what day it is!
I am very much looking forward to the weekend...we are super excited to be going to see Tim McGraw in concert!
We had a fabulous weekend at the beach..it was just so nice to get away, do what we want, when we want! We are definitely missing the kiddos, but it sure was nice to be away without them!
Technically our weekend started Thursday since that is when we left for the beach...and well if you follow me on Instagram or Facebook then you know my weekend started out extra fantastic...
Let's just say my husband is AWESOME!!!!! I mean I can't even think of a better way to start vacation than with a fabulous new Louis Vuitton bag! This is the Speedy 30...I did wind up exchanging it for the next size up...because you guys know me...I'm a go big or go home type of girl! Needless to say I absolutely love it, and I am so blessed to have such an amazing husband!
So Thursday afternoon my ex-husband arrived here to stay with the kids and take them back to NJ Friday morning, and once we said all our goodbyes to our kiddos we packed up the car and we were beach bound! And to say we were excited was an understatement...(mind you my excitement set in after I wiped all my tears from saying goodbye to Olivia).
Literally the second we got into the car until the second we arrived at the beach, it poured rain, I mean poured rain, and after a lot of traffic, and speeds not going over 35 MPH we finally arrived and got checked in!
After we got all checked in and the car unloaded it was off to grab some food and some much needed drinks.....
This is the best way to start vacation for sure!
When we got back to our room, we sat on our balcony, had great conversation, enjoyed the sound of the ocean and this view!
Friday morning we woke up early, well early for being on vacation...we were up by 8:30...and we were off to a couples massage! This was Mark's very first time, yep that's right, his very first time, ever getting a massage...and well let's just say it definitely won't be his last! After an hour of pure bliss...we grabbed some lunch and headed back so we could get on the beach!
The weeks leading up to our trip, our local news has been flooded with shark attack after shark attack on the beaches in NC...we were in SC...so I convinced myself it was safe to swim! When I was younger my favorite thing to do was swim in the ocean at the Jersey Shore, so I was definitely getting in the ocean on this trip!
There were lots of people swimming and not a shark in sight...we were pretty happy about that! It was super fun jumping waves and just enjoying the ocean!
Toes in the sand....best ever! The beach is our happy place!
After sitting on the beach for a while we headed back up to hang out by the pool....I mean what is better than floating around the lazy river with a cocktail in your hand....oh that would be nothing!
Cheers to a kid free getaway!
I mean a bucket of alcohol..yes please!
Friday night we went and had a fabulous meal at one of our favorite places to eat at the beach, it was so nice! After dinner we met up with some of Mark's co-workers who happened to be staying about 5 minutes from us. We met up with them, had some drinks and walked out onto the pier..such a great night with great people!
Such a great view from the pier!
Thankfully this is the only shark we saw on our trip:)
Saturday I slept in, like I slept until almost 2:00 slept in...I was kinda mad I slept so much of the day away though!
I could wake up to this view every single day and never ever get tired of it!
Some more of Mark's co-workers happened to be at the beach working for the next 6 weeks, so a few of them stopped by on Saturday...I am so thankful that he gets to work with some really great people!
I know this probably isn't the most appropriate picture to post, but right here is a great group of guys, and well when they get together they definitely like to have some fun!
After some pool time, we all went and got ready and decided to all meet back up for dinner and fireworks!
Lots of tequila shots were done...none by me, but trust me the guys all did plenty!
This was my plate...I ate every last bit of my meal and it was delicious! It was a ridiculous amount of food and I ate every last bite! I mean on vacation calories are non-existent right???
After a yummy dinner, we all headed back to the pier to meet up with some of the other co-workers, and watch some fireworks!
The pictures don't do any justice...the fireworks were absolutely beautiful! I was so thankful to be at the beach with my husband, enjoying a perfect night!
Sunday morning came way too quick...let's face it, it just plain sucks leaving the beach!
No fun leaving this....
All our stuff packed and ready to go....
I mean everyone and their mother was leaving at the same time...seriously 30 minutes to get the elevator!
It was such a wonderful weekend, I missed my babies a ton, but it was so nice to just be with my husband! This little trip was a great reminder that we need to make the time to do this more often. I don't know about you, but sometimes I get so wrapped up in my kids, that my marriage takes the backseat, and well that just isn't good! I am really going to make the most of the two weeks while the kids are gone, and focus on spending as much time as I can with Mark!
Thanks for stopping by today...be sure to check back tomorrow!
Looks like a fabulous weekend! Cannot believe you slept till 2! I don't think I'm capable of that! haha! Have a great day!
