Happy Tuesday Ladies!
Hope you are having a great start to your week! Today I am linking up with Shelly and Katy for their "Spiel the Beans" link-up....Shelly I FINALLY remembered!!!
You guys should definitely link up too!
Today we are talking about our Summer Bucket Lists. It is no secret that I love summer, I love that school is out and that my kids are home and we can say goodbye to strict schedules and alarm clocks for a while! Now that being said, by summers end I am once again craving routine....HA!
This summer will be a little different for us than summers past. Olivia attends a year-round school (that's all that is offered for elementary school where we live) so her summer is very short. Both her and the boys are done with school next Thursday, and while the boys don't start school again until August 10, Liv starts back July 12...so summer will be short for her!
I don't necessarily have a "bucket list" for the summer, but here is some of what will be going on around here this summer!
We have signed up Olivia for two Vacation Bible Schools this summer, and she is really excited about both of them. She is doing one the first week in June in the morning, and then the following week she is doing another one in the evenings, and she is super pumped about getting to eat dinner there!
You guys already know we are big into NASCAR over here, and we are super pumped about heading back to Daytona over July 4th weekend for the Coke Zero 400 race! We had a blast at the Daytona 500 back in February and I am confident another awesome weekend is in store for us!
We are so lucky to live very close to the beach, less than an hour drive, so we are planning on spending many of our school free days down on the beach. We are all about relaxing over the summer!
All the kids need new bikes, and this weekend Mark and I decided that we are going to get bikes too...so I am thinking there will be lots of bike riding days for us this summer...and y'all I am so darn excited about riding a bike again!
Well, it isn't quite football season yet....however our summer will be filled with lots of summer workouts and football practices for the boys! I can't even imagine how hot these practices are going to be...YIKES!!!
We don't have an actual vacation planned this summer, with Mark just starting his new position at the end of last year he wont actually be entitled to vacation until November...so we are looking to plan a family trip somewhere in between Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Ever since we have moved into our house, Mark has been itching to get a boat, so we have just started looking for a boat...so hopefully real soon there will be a boat at my dock in the backyard, and hopefully many summer nights will be spent out on the bay!
The boys are looking forward to just relaxing, sleeping in and hanging out with their friends! I have never really "booked" my kids with activities, I am a firm believer in they definitely need some down time, and I let them have it during the summer for sure!
Can't wait to read all about what everyone else is doing this summer! Thanks for stopping by today! Be sure to check back tomorrow, I have a fun little giveaway to tell you about it!
Sounds like a great summer to me!!
ReplyDeleteOne thing I know...it's going to be a hot one ;)
DeleteI've spent every summer of my life in FL, and when I think of summer I think beach, boats, swimming, ice cream, and VBS (seriously!). So I think you guys will have one great summer!
ReplyDeleteWe are definitely excited for summer, not so excited for the heat and humidity;)
DeleteYeah, that's something you might as well embrace! They're not going away- lol! I love it! I feel so good when it's hot and humid- my hair and skin look better too.
DeleteGetting bikes is on our list too!
ReplyDeleteI'm like a little kid giddy with excitement over a new bike !!!!
DeleteYear round school would be such an adjustment. I'm not sure how I would feel getting up and going to school early in the morning during the summer. That would be hard!!
ReplyDeleteI'm so jealous you're so close to the beach. We went to Destin last summer and have thought about it daily since. We loved it!
I love bike riding! Tony bought me an Electra Townie bike several years ago, and I go riding with my good friends, Karen and her hubby. Sadly, my husband isn't in to riding bikes but the 3 of us have so much fun pedaling all over our town! and of course, Tony is always up to jump into the car and meet us at our local fro-yo place afterwards! LOL
ReplyDeleteMy girls love their bikes! I usually just jog along beside them on our trips to the park because my bike seat isn't comfy! But my hubby is dying for a boat... As soon as number three gets out of preschool that's the first on our list! Granted, he grew up on a lake and skiing so he's determined to get one ;) have a great day friend!
ReplyDeleteSo jealous about your short commute to the beach! What a fun summer planned ahead! Thanks for linking up with us!
ReplyDeleteI'm not gonna lie...I would love year round school with longer breaks in between. I really think I would be able to plan my vacations and get more time with my kidos. We are close to the beach....but ours do NOT look like that!! I'm definitely jealous. Thanks so much for linking up! I'm so proud you remembered. :)
ReplyDeleteYour list sounds absolutely perfect!!
ReplyDeleteMy family is looking forward to the best part of summer break... Sleeping past 6:15 am!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat list! So jealous of how close you are to the beach!!! I think lots and lots of mamas are looking forward to no alarm clocks and laid back schedules! Bring on summer!!!
