Thursday Thoughts...Getting Organized in 2016

Happy Thursday Ladies!

Seriously....one day!

With each new year that starts I always tell myself I am going to get organized, and well, I am pretty good for about a month, and well then life happens, and I immediately turn back into a scatter brain...which always leaves me feeling overwhelmed and stressed out!  Well this upcoming year, not only am I telling myself I am getting organized, I am going to be sure that I stay that way and hold myself accountable!

I love reading blogs, and my favorite posts are always the "monthly goals", I love reading everyone's goals, and I love how the following month they let us all know how they did!  It always makes me feel good seeing that so many don't always achieve all their goals, but they don't let it get them down!  Starting in 2016 I am going to bog each month about my "goals" and I am really hoping I will do better knowing that I will have to follow up on them the following month!  Sometimes we just need to be accountable!  I know for me, it definitely helps!

Like most of you, I have a smartphone, and my iPhone can do just about anything, however I am so old school, and for me, writing things down is a much more effective way for me!

I love a good planner!  I LOVE LOVE LOVE my Simplified Planner !  If you guys are looking for a great planner, you should definitely check it out!

I am loving my Pineapple Planner for 2016!

I love that I have the entire month at a glance, and then each day has it's own page..it has plenty of room for what I need!

I am real good about writing things down and making lists, however sometimes in the rush of things I forget to look at it, and well it all goes south from there!

I have noticed that on the days that I wake up an hour or so before I get the kids up, my days go much smoother.  I love my sleep, so normally I will get up at the last possible minute and I find that I am a crazy, rushing lunatic in the morning!  If I set my alarm for 5:30, I am DEAD tired when I roll out of bed, but I find that after a cup of coffee I am ok...and I really just enjoy my "quiet" time before the craziness starts.  I am starting this whole getting up early thing and I must say even though the past few mornings have been rough, getting up while it's still dark out, I find myself much more relaxed throughout the whole day.

This made me laugh out loud...so funny and so true....

I have definitely let diet and exercise take a major back seat for oh about the past 9 months!  I absolutely HATE working out of any kind, however I am not one of those lucky enough that doesn't have to exercise or watch what I eat...I have to do BOTH...and I haven't...and my clothes can certainly tell that I haven't!  I figured it is almost pointless to get too crazy with the whole dieting thing right now with Christmas right around the corner, but I am hoping to watch what I eat.  I am a firm believer in moderation, I will never deprive myself of anything, and well pretty much since the spring I have indulged in everything!  I am definitely determined to get back on track in 2016.  More so than weight loss, I just want to be healthy and feel good about myself!

2015 was a crazy year for us...and I am really excited to see what 2016 has in store for us!  I know that for me, being organized and having "all my ducks in a row" will help to ensure my year is great!  Would love to hear if you guys have any great tips for being organized, and eliminating stress from the grind of day to day life.  And I am super excited for the new year to share my goals with you each month!

Be sure to check back tomorrow for Friday Favorites!!!!

  1. Maintaining organization is one of the hardest things! Monthly goals are a great way to keep yourself on track! With diet and exercise....cut out things from a box and start working out like 3 days a week. If you start off too strong, it'll be hard to keep up! That's my advice :)

  4. You should have looked into the Day Designer that Target carried a few months ago. Super cute designer and less than half the cost of what you paid for Emily Leys planner. I haven't read good reviews about her latest planner either, they say very cheap quality materials. But, to each her own:).

Any plans on the diet front? Like are you gonna follow a particular program? I really need to get myself back on track but at this point I figure I may as well wait until New Years lol!

    1. Hi! I have heard great things about the day designer! I'll have to check it out for 2017! I loved my Emily ley planner for 2015, I can't say if the quality is poor on the one unjust received because I haven't really "used" it yet! As for the diet, I just started plexus, to aide with some weight loss and for just overall wellness and feeling good! So I'll definitely be sharing about that and my results! I'm really just going to eat healthy, watch my portions, and hopefully it will be enough! And girl I am with you on waiting until the new year;). Have a great day!

  6. Please post if you come up with any meal planning ideas. I am the most unorganized about what's for dinner or we get in a total dinner rut. Thanks!
