Need Your Help...

Happy Monday Ladies!

I was so happy to not have to set any alarms this morning and let the kids sleep in!

I have always enjoyed cooking and baking, and lately I find myself loving being in the kitchen and cooking more and more.  Baking was always my favorite, but trying new recipes and being able to serve my family something yummy and they enjoy just makes me so happy!

So....today I am asking for your help an recommendations on cookware!

Currently I have a mish mosh of pots and pans.  I have always grabbed a set of pots and pans from Target or Walmart, and well after a few months they look like crap, they are scratched (I'm probably using metal tools when I shouldn't), and when you open up my cabinet it's embarrassing as nothing matches, and its all pieced together from sets I have had over the years.

I have been wanting to get some new, good cookware and who knew that shopping for cookware could be so overwhelming?  First, I was SHOCKED when I was browsing online at some of the prices...I nearly fell over...HOLY EXPENSIVE!  But I am thinking that maybe spending the money on a good set, that I will have for years may be the way to go here.

I currently have my eye on this set from Le Creuset, but holy moly it isn't cheap!  I do not have any Le Creuset but I have read great reviews on all their products.

I have also been looking at set from Pioneer Woman, an have read really mixed reviews.  Some people LOVE it, and some say it isn't so great.  If anyone has the Pioneer Woman set would love to know your thoughts.  It's definitely affordable that is for sure!

I think it's time that I invest in some decent cookware, and would love to hear what you guys have, what you love and what you would recommend!  Please leave me a comment if you have cookware that you love!  Thanks so much for your help!

Be sure to check back tomorrow...I'll be sharing a yummy recipe!

xoxo,
Kimm

  1. About 9-10 years ago, I got concerned about teflon. I saved up and bought a decent sized stainless steel set from Macy's for under $100 on sale right after Christmas. It was tools of the trade or a Macy's brand. Guess what? I don't have to worry about teflon peeling and they are still in amazing shape. I do use bar Keener's friend on them to keep them looking nice. Our steamer pan was trashed by a babysitter who burnt popcorn in it many years ago. I have purchased a bigger pot for less than $40 that fits our family size well. I've also purchased a Dutch oven that I don't use much, new cookie sheets at Costco with the silicone mats to go on top so our cookie sheets look great too. And I purchased a cast iron skillet to use for certain things and a stovetop griddle to use for certain things. The cast iron is barely used but the griddle is used a lot and has to be replaced often because of it being teflon. I use a scraper from pampered chef to help preserve the pans by scraping food off though you could probably find a set at the store.

  2. We have mostly All Clad pans at our house which are wonderful but pricey. We also have some Calphalon non-stick frying fans which are great as well. I also have some Le Creuset pieces as well and will vouch that they are worth it.

  3. We have waterless cookware and love it. It was crazy expensive. We bought it before we got married but 12 years later it still holds up beautifully and stacks easily in our cabinets.

  5. I recently upgraded my non-stick (teflon) Calphalon to stainless steel. A lot of people recommended this set, and so far I love it!

  6. Hey.....I have Calphalon brand......within that brand they have several types....I love mine...good quality, not cheap but certainly not the price of the Le Creuset which, in my opinion, unless you or Mark are a gourmet chef, that is not money well spent. Most of the cookware sets named after a name brand cook such as Pioneer Woman haven't held up. I have had several friends, who over the years have purchased these sets.....not necessarily Pioneer Woman but a name cook with their name slapped on the product.....they haven't really been worth what money they did cost. I would recommend staying away from those. That being said there is a wide array of quality cookware out there that falls in between Le Creuset to Pioneer Woman.....you have sort of mentioned a very high end brand to a lower end brand....I'd search for one in between those two. Good Luck!!!!

  7. I have Le Crust and I LOVE IT! With that being said, I also have calphalon and All Clad. When Tony and I got married 15 years ago, I got the pots and pans as wedding gifts and then over the last 15 years Tony has bought me Le Creuset as christmas gifts ( I know some people are saying...what? christmas presents?) but yes I love it and its pricey. But it cleans up so well and as they get seasoned, they are even better! Good Luck!

  8. We have a Calphalon stainless steel set and love it. We have a Le Creuset dutch oven that I love so much, but it's too expensive to make a whole set worth it. One piece is perfect! Macy's sells a Martha Stewart line of enamel cookware, like Le Creuset. My brother and SIL have it and love it and it's a lot cheaper.

  11. We have two LeCreuset Dutch ovens... big and small. I cook all my soups, sauces, etc in them. Everything else is Calphalon. We've replaced them once in our almost 15 years. Get a Macy's or Belk coupon and it's cheaper to buy a set. We also have a cpl Williams Sonoma skillets with kids- they're $$$ but we use them nonstop and have for 15 years. Don't buy stainless steel. Don't! We are big time foodies and stainless steel is overrated.

  12. Wish I could help, but I have a hodge lodge of cookware, too! I think most of my pieces are Paula Dean and I've been pleased with them.

  13. We have All-Clad and Le Creuset and I can honestly say it is the best decision we ever made. Yes, they are expensive, but they are an investment and worth every penny. I have a complete set of All-Clad, including the double boiler and pasta pot, and I have four pieces of Le Creuset. Know that they are both very heavy. I tend to use the All-Clad more frequently because it's not as heavy as the Le Creuset. Not to insult anyone commenting above but I'd never go back to Calphalon or anything else. They are cheap and don't cook nearly as well as stainless steel pots and pans and Le Creuset. Just my opinion.

  14. Le Creuset is definitely worth the investment! Lifetime warranty and by far the favorite part of my kitchen collection, including my All Clad. Calphalon is making re of a starter brand, but should last a few years...just not forever :)

  15. Years ago I hosted a Pampered Chef party and was able to get all my cookware as part of the party with just spending a bit more. It has held up so well! We did need some new skillets about a year ago for cooking bacon and eggs and such and I grabbed some from Williams Sonoma that were on sale and they have been super.
