What Are You Reading

Hello Friends!

That is my question for you girls today!  In the beginning of last year I found myself reading a lot of books, and I loved it.  Then life got a little crazy, and I just didn't make the time for reading a priority.  I love sitting in a quiet room, or on the couch for a bit in the afternoon while my kids are in school and sit down with a good book.

I just received these two books over the weekend and I am excited to start reading this week!

I have gone back and forth between getting a Kindle..do you guys have one?  Thoughts??  I am pretty old school, and really like having the book in my hand, but on the other hand, I only have so much room to store books, and buying new books regularly can also get pretty pricey.  I know I should probably utilize the library, but if I am being honest I suck at the library.  I am that person who just cannot seem to return the books on time...I know pathetic!

So, I would love for you guys to let me know what you are reading, and what are some "must reads"!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  Be sure to check back tomorrow.  Have a great day.

xoxo,
Kimm

  1. I've had a Kindle for about 9 years, and I love it. I'll admit that it took some getting used to...prior to that I had always purchased books, but I ran out of room to store them, and like you said, they're pricey. But now I can't ever imagine buying books again. And the beauty is, I can go back and re-read books I love because they're stored in my kindle. I also have my kindle linked to my iPhone and iPad, so it's great to be able to read a book on my phone while sitting in a doctor's office waiting room, etc. I was tired of lugging around novels and magazines everywhere with me, so this was the perfect solution. I would definitely consider getting one- you won't be sorry.

  2. I have a Kindle and use it sometimes. It's great for traveling bc it's light, but if you're a book person I would honestly recommend getting into the library. I spend a ton on books but I pass them to friends and vice versa so it works out. But I do the library a ton. At ours we can reserve online and also they email the day before they're due. It's SO nice and really helps with no fines. They also give you a print out of all due dates when you pick up and I just pop that date straight into my planner. But the emails are a huge help. Maybe your system does the same thing???

  3. I love my kindle. I get the appeal of books but the kindle is so convenient. It's easy to travel with, easy to read anywhere. Our library also has kindle books and I love that.

  4. I would rather hold a book in my hand than have a kindle. There's just something about holding it and turning a page. Right now I'm reading Giddy Up Eunice by sSiphie Hudson.... Boo Mama Blog. It's Biblical, but she also interlaces personal stories and it's all about how women should be there for each other no matter their ages. I'm loving it.

  6. If you have a tablet or a fair size smartphone you can just use the Kindle app. I don't have a Kindle but use my phone ("phablet") and tablet almost exclusively for new books. Amazon prime also offers a number of books you can "borrow" included with Prime price

  7. I like my Kindle for toting around and your library may allow for Kindle books. Ours does and once the return is over it just will automatically send the book back to the library. You never have late fees this way!

  8. I love my kindle and can't imagine not ever having it! I have the paperwhite one and its awesome. Being on a library board, I push the library as much as possible. Its ridiculous the amount of money some of these bloggers spend on books and then shill them on their blog. You can borrow from the library for free. Free works great with me. I still buy some thru my kindle, but not as many as you would think And I am a Prime Member so I get magazines for my iPad and fabulous books to read. Check out your library. You may be surprised at how far they have come in the area of e-books and online services.

  9. So I have an Kindle and hardly EVER use it! There's just something about that new book smell that gives me the heart eyes and makes me buy them over the E-books. I just finished up It Ends With Us and have moved on to Lauren Graham's talking As Fast As I Can.

  10. I have a kindle and mainly enjoy using it when we travel because it is so small. But I still prefer actually holding a book while reading most of the time. I get almost all my books (including the Kindle) from the library, but maybe you could find a good used book store.

  11. BTW- what kind of books do you like? Join Goodreads and you'll be able to see all kinds of books your friends are reading and it suggests new ones based on how you've rated other. Love it!!!

  13. You can think of it as a donation to your public library, rather than an overdue fee :) Your library system probably offers Kindle book check-outs, and those are returned automatically! Easy peasy.

  14. I go back and forth between a "real" book and reading on my ipad. I love a real book but I love the handiness of my ipad and the fact that I can carry it around in my purse and have access to multiple books. I'm also reading It Ends With Us...but then started a new book yesterday morning because I was needing some Jesus and OMG...if you are looking for a great read Breaking Up with Perfect I highly recommend!
