Workin' It Wednesday

We are half way through the week ladies!

yes!

Today I am linking up with Shay and Erika , for their monthly linkup...be sure you are linking up too!

And here is the list for the link ups:

Today we are talking about New Years Goals.  I shared a bit about my Goals for 2017, you can read it here .

I don't know about you guys, but normally when I make a resolution in January, by February 1, I have failed at it.  So for 2017 I decided to not really make a resolution, or set monthly goals, instead I am just going to try and be the best me that I can be each day.  I want to wake up each day and make it count, be grateful, and try and make it better than the last.  Letting things go has never been easy for me, so in 2017, I want to work on that.  When I have a bad day, and lets face it, we all have them...I need to just let it go, wake up the next day and start fresh.  Being a wife and mom is HARD, and at times can be extremely frustrating, so this year I am going to really strive to be the best that I can be at home for my family.

Another thing I want to work on for 2017 is just being content with what I have, and that can be HARD.  Sometimes I feel like we go through life, constantly wanting more, and just never being content with all that it is we already have.  Being more mindful and paying closer attention to what we spend is something I really plan to focus on this year.  I will always LOVE to shop and have nice things, but I realize that having every "must have" item that someone talks about is just not necessary.    I already have SO much, so learning to be content with what I already have, instead of worrying about getting more stuff, is something that is very important to me this year.

For 2017, I want to be present for my husband and my children.  Photos and videos are great, and always so much fun to look back on, but I have learned that being present in the moment, rather than trying to capture the moment for Facebook, IG or snapchat , is so much more important. So going into 2017, making each moment count and being present for my family is my #1 priority.

I cannot wait to read about everyone's goals and resolutions for 2017!  Thanks for stopping by today!

xoxo,
Kimm

  1. I love this Kimm! It's like Shay said, just be "intentional". It is hard being a mom and a wife but you do such a beautiful job! Keep up the good work! And have a blessed 2017!

  2. Great post! I agree.. I think so many people are so focused on the photo op that they're missing life. That's what I hate about social media. People never used to know every move everyone was making, and that's a good thing. Seeing everyone's every move, every new outfit, every new item they buy.. just causes jealousy and discontent. And I feel like most people who post all those pics are doing it to show off how much they have, how cute their kids are, how rich they are, how "happy" they are, how they "have it all together"... They aren't just posting pics for the memory. Our kids aren't gonna care that they wore the most expensive clothes and posed for a picture every day... They are gonna remember that mom stopped to play with them instead of using our free time to pose them for a hundred pictures. My goal is to be more content also. It's hard when everything is thrown in our faces all the time, but it's so important to stop and enjoy what we have without just constantly looking for the next thing. Totally relate to all of your goals!

    1. Hi Amy! I know I have definitely been guilty of comparing myself to others and not feeling content with what I already had, wanting more stuff and in the end that's all it is ....stuff I have found just doesn't bring me true happiness. Learning to be content is tough for sure, but it does make me appreciate all that I have so much more. And i agree that with Snapchat and IG stories and social media so many spend way too much time showing the world their life rather than enjoying and just living it. Not every moment needs to be a photo op;). Thanks for stopping by today and hope 2017 is a great year for you !!!

    1. Being truly happy , for me, means just being content and appreciative for all it is that I do have and not think or worry about what I don't.

  6. Finding contentment is such a blessing! I definitely was so guilty of trying to find it in the wrong places for so long but God found a way to humble us and make us realize what we have been blessed with is just right for us. Sounds like you are off to a great 2017
