Weekend Wrap-Up

Happy Monday Ladies!

Hope you all had a wonderful Mother's Day weekend!  All's I know is that the weekends go by way TOO fast!

We had a nice low key weekend over here!  I am still not feeling 100% yet, and now Mark has the rotten cold that I had!

After I got the kiddos to school Friday, I came home showered, and it was a day for just ME!  It is RARE that I ever just devote a whole day to myself, but with it being Mother's Day and all I figured why the heck not!  First stop was the salon for my hair appointment...it has definitely taken me MONTHS to find a salon that I like here, but I have found one, and Lewis...he is AWESOME!  Normally I HATE sitting there getting my hair done, but I actually enjoyed just sitting there reading People magazine...and I was happy to have ZERO grays when I walked out!

After getting my hair done, I made a stop at the nail salon...and again, I sat there for the better part of an hour, sipping a Pepsi, reading magazines, enjoying a wonderful pedicure!

After my pedicure, I was STARVING, so right next door was a little restaurant that we have been dying to try for either lunch or breakfast, so I stopped in there, ordered a BLT with a side of onion rings, I came home, and had about 20 minutes to enjoy my lunch out on the patio before it was time to pick up Olivia from the bus stop.  The weather Friday was sheer PERFECTION...not too hot, no humidity, I enjoyed eating outside!

We spent the rest of Friday just hanging out...the boys came home from school, went straight out back to fish, and us girls sat on the porch watching them fish!  It was a really great day.  It felt so great to not do a single thing around the house Friday...that never happens, so it was just awesome to kind of have a day for just me!

These two spent lots of time Friday night just cracking up...they are too much together!

Love these guys of mine!

Harrison is LOVING fishing...who knew!!!

Saturday morning we all slept in until around 10...FABULOUS!  Mark and Harrison had a few errands to run, and the rest of us just straightened up around the house.  Then once the boys were done with chores, it was of course straight out back to fish some more!

This is pretty much what my backyard looks like at ALL times...chairs and fishing poles everywhere!  I love that electronics have really taken a back seat since we have moved here.  It is so great to see them spending the bulk of their time outdoors!

We had a few errands to run Saturday afternoon and this outfit was PERFECT!  I couldn't find my shorts on Jcrew Factory, but they are so comfy...they zip on the side and have the perfect amount of stretch to them!  And I picked up this cute little top a few weeks ago at the Loft outlet, and I have worn it a few times and it is perfect!

Saturday night we made frozen pizzas for dinner, sat out back for a bit and watched the boys fish, and then we finished the night on the couch watching the NASCAR race...another laid back, perfect Saturday!

Sunday morning Olivia and I were the first ones up...she sat outside with me while I drank my coffee and talked my ear off.  I love having conversations with her...she is just the sweetest, funniest little girl!  I am so blessed she calls me mommy!

Once the rest of the gang woke up Mark made a delicious breakfast!  I'm so thankful to be married to a man who really loves to cook!

The boys...fished ALL day long....I love how quickly Harrison has adapted to his new life here!

Mark made a delicious dinner...steaks, baked potatoes, string bean casserole...and a yummy pina colada for me!

I enjoyed sitting outside relaxing, watching all the kids out back...it was a perfect day, spent with the 5 that call me Mom!

I have to give a special shoutout to my hubs...he woke up feeling miserable, with a terrible cold, but he still managed to make the day all about me, cooking me breakfast, cleaning it up, and cooking me a wonderful dinner...yes I am BLESSED!

We have a super fun week ahead!  Olivia has no school today and tomorrow, AJ has a field trip to LEGOLAND Wednesday, Wednesday night Jack is being recognized in an awards ceremony for his outstanding academics, and Thursday he has his field trip to Bush Gardens!

The boys have 14 days of school left and Olivia has 12...another school year that has FLOWN by!  Be sure to check back tomorrow for Show and Tell Tuesday!

Hope y'all have a GREAT Monday!

  2. Glad to hear you had a great weekend and enjoyed your Mother's Day. I bet you were thrilled that all your kids were there to celebrate with you! AJ will LOVE Legoland. We were there last month over spring break. It was so much fun. It's incredible to see what they can create. Just a tip for you you to pass onto him. The food was not very good. Mostly fast food and not a great selection. Tell him to take plenty of snacks... He will need them!

  4. EVERY day is a Kimm day. What do you even do all day when your kids are at school? I am genuinely asking. You call them littles but they are not. You have no babies at home and no one needs you from at least 8-3. You do not volunteer, exercise, work, cook, clean... All you seem to do is loaf around. Spending money you clearly don't have. Drinking wine and eating snack cakes. Taking more photos of your $88 candle so you can prove you have expensive things. You probably won't even publish this because you're afraid to face the truth that you're a lazy sad sack. Get out and do something. Make some friends. Be a good example for your kids. Work on your yard. EARN some money to actually furnish your home instead of spending it on junk you can take blurry pictures of. You are so excited for summer because you can drink your nightly bottle of wine and don't need to get out of bed in the morning for something as insignificant as your kids' education.

    1. During the times my kids are at school, I drop them off at 830 (all of them) and Olivia is home in the door by 230. During the time they are at school I usually walk in the morning (not everyday but usually 3x a week), if Olivia has something going on at school, a local field trip, an activity at school that parents can attend then I go to that. During the 6 hours they are gone is when i do the laundry , always lots of it over here, then once it's washed and dried I iron what needs to be ironed, then there is the house that needs to be cleaned, I don't have a cleaning lady so it is ME that cleans, mops floors, you know all that glamorous stuff! I have some expensive things and I have some not so expensive things. We do have a service that cuts our grass biweekly, however it is usually me that is cleaning up the yard, the palms shed like a bitch here. I actually do do something, I take care of my home and my family. Yes they are gone during the day but trust me when I tell you there is always work to be done here. Always. I love my candle and I'm not ashamed that I love it!!! And yikes a bottle of wine a night...I'm so sorry but that is so inaccurate...I usually have one glass a night and sometimes I don't have a single glass for days ....I'm excited for summer because I actually enjoy spending time with my kids. I love having them home. Not because I am lazy and don't want to get up in the morning ( but seriously not everyone is a morning person). But because I love having them home. I take my children's education very seriously, if you knew me at all you would clearly know that. I'm a very good example for my kids. I may not be out working 50 hours a week, but being a simple housewife is what I do and love it. Do I shop sometimes, I sure do and there isn't a darn thing wrong with that, but shopping doesn't define me or bring me my most happiness. Being just a mom and a wife is what truly matters the most to me. So you can feel free to think I'm a sad sack, you're completely entitled to your opinion, but I can assure you my days are not full of just laying around watching tv, shopping, drinking wine and eating snack cakes ;). And I am more excited for summer this year because my daughter attends a year round school so she will only be home for a month, so I'm really sorry if me being super excited for her to be home for a lousy month in the summer irritates you! Thank you for stopping by today!

    2. Oh and in addition to not having a cleaning lady we also don't have a chef, so yea I have to cook dinner each night also!!! As for buying things to furnish our home...well we buy what we need. Thankfully our home is furnished so there really isn't a need to keep going out buying couches, tables. And beds when we have all that. Ya know what I mean ?

    3. Hi Kimm!

Please don't feel like you have to justify yourself to anyone on here who feels the need to spew hate. Obviously you don't include every single detail of your day or life for that matter. This is not much different than social media. Everyone just posts tidbits of info, not the piled dirty dishes, heaping piles of laundry, or whatever else. We are all on a different journey! Keep up the great work, there any many that truly enjoy your blog.

      All the best!

  5. Kimm-the Funny Bunny polish-do you have to put on several coats for it to look like that? And is that a gel polish, or the old fashioned stuff? I love it! Thanks!

    1. Hi Gretchen! I use the gel and they just do two coats. I've been using this color for a while and only stated doing gel again a few months ago. I have the regular polish as well and only ever applied a base coat, two coats of polish and a top coat! Have a great day!!!

  6. Awesome, thanks Kimm! I'm going to pick some up today.

  7. Love the shorts! Love the polish! Ignore the trolls Kimm. More than likely it is just either a working parent that is jealous they do not get to stay home and raise their family. Or, it is some fat, ugly old man with nothing better to do than have his days be all about trolling mommy blogs picking them to shreds. I enjoy your blog! Are you all still liking your church?

    2. Thats great Kimm! I cannot find a lifegroup I fit in well at my church because it is just me. Usually lifegroups are a couples thing. Maybe some day. It was freezing here in nc this morning. Hope the weather is just perfect there for you!
