Show & Tell Tuesday...Goals and Resolutions

Happy Tuesday Girls!  Today I am linking up with my sweet friend Andrea and her new series "Show and Tell Tuesdays"...I am so excited about this!  Grab the graphic and link up!!!

I did a post last week about my No Resolution New Year, you can read it here .  I know I am not alone when I say I have made many resolutions over the years and not really seen many of them through.  This year I have decided instead of making a single resolution, I would set small, attainable goals for myself each month, and hope that by incorporating them into my daily life, they will become habit.  I have decided there are many small things that I can do, that will have a BIG impact on my life!  Now don't get me wrong, I would like to lose a few pounds, eat a bit a lot more healthy, not spend so much money, etc...and I am going to try to do all those things.  But I am really excited about my monthly goals, and really hoping to be able to check them all off my list at each month's end.

Here is my list of goals for January

Now I know these are not major, life changing goals here, but they are 4 pretty important things that I know will make a big difference in my life.  I am pretty confident about being able to achieve these goals, the only one I am a little concerned about is the getting up 30 minutes earlier each day.  I am definitely NOT a morning person at all...I could sleep easily every day until noon.  However I realize that I am pretty much a lunatic in the mornings, because I get up at the last possible minute and then I feel like I am super rushed, and yelling at the kids.  So this is a HUGE one for me...I am hoping this extra 30 minutes will allow me a cup of coffee and some time to "wake up" before I have to get the kiddos up and ready for school.  Hopefully not starting the day under major pressure will allow for smoother days all around!  Wish me luck!!!!!

I can't wait to read about everyone's resolutions and goals for the upcoming year!  Have the BEST day and be sure to check back tomorrow to see what we have been wearing!!!!

  1. I started slowly (just like you) getting up before the kiddos and now I choose to set my alarm for an hour before they're up. Sometimes even more! You'll love your quiet time. :)

  3. I love the idea of setting smaller monthly goals. I got overwhelmed trying to think of goals for the whole year. I like the thought that it's really the small things we do in our life that make a big impact. :)
    Have a happy new year!

  5. Getting up earlier was so hard for me at first but for me it ends up being much more productive than staying up late. Going to bed at the same time as Keith is definitely something I'm trying to do too...makes it easier for us to be on similar schedules for sure. Good luck! Will be excited to see you evaluate your progress each month! Happy New Year!

  7. Turning off your phone after dinner is a really wise thing!
I, too, need to work at getting myself in bed earlier. Our little wake-up calls (kids) are too early :)
    Have a great day, Kimm!

  9. I'm sure you do, but do you get the kids clothes out the night before? Also do you get their dry snacks and put them in their lunchboxes and also pile the cold snacks/drinks in the fridge? It saves me some time in the morning automatically because I don't have to think about anything.
If your kids need a choice of clothes then get a few things out. I actually get the entire week of outfits out (including underwear and socks) this way if they don't like what I picked then they can pick something else out of the pile :)

    1. I try to get their stuff laid out the night before and sometimes it's just so crazy I forget. But I am going to make more of a conscious effort to do this. Mans I usuallybhave their lunch boxes packed so all I have to do is make sandwiches in the morning!!!! Love the idea of outfits for the week. Feels like it's giving them a choice. Thanks for reading and have a great day!!!!

  10. Hey kimm! I'm passing the 30 min early idea to Jay. He too is not a morning person and I'm on my way home from work when the kiddies get up! I think it would benefit him in the long run and maybe won't be so stressful to get to the bus stop! Like the blog I finally remembered to check it out! Happy New Year!!
