IT'S 2016!
Happy New Year!
I hope that you and your family all have a happy and blessed New Year! May 2016 bring happiness, love and good fortune to all of you!
As I sit and reflect back on 2015, though I shouldn't be, I am still somewhat shocked as to how mean some people can be. I know that having this blog puts me out there for people to just be mean. I am always so appreciative of anyone who takes the time to read what I have to say, and I am well aware it isn't everyone's cup of tea! I am surprised that those people still come back everyday to read and make mean comments. I do publish most of the comments that I receive, however the truly hate-filled ones I just delete. It is very easy to sit behind a computer screen and comment "anonymously" spewing nothing but meanness and hate!
What is so great about this world is that we are in fact all different, and that's what makes it all so great...just think how boring things would be if we all felt the same way about things, and all liked the same exact things.
I am so thankful for blogging and social media, it has allowed me to "meet" people I would have never otherwise had the chance to meet. I love the fact that we are all able to share so much of our lives and families with each other. I love how, for the most part, everyone is so friendly and shares their tips and tricks, whether it be about fashion, a great sale, parenting tips...anything...it really is so wonderful, and it definitely makes me sad there are people out there that have nothing better to do with their time than to be mean and just try and tear other women down.
I have said this before, my life is far from perfect, and I certainly am not trying in anyway, shape or form, trying to paint a picture of the "perfect life". It has taken me a LONG time to truly be happy and content in my life, and I love sharing it with people. I certainly don't think I am better than anyone else, I am me, and I am content with just that!
I like nice things, I have always liked nice things, but I don't spend my days shopping and spending money just to spend it! There are certain things I choose to spend money on, and just because someone else thinks it's "insane" to spend $1000 on a handbag, I don't You don't have to agree with it or not, but have people not ever heard "to each his own" ?
Mark and I work as a team, and when either one of us makes a purchase, we always discuss it with each other, that is what works for us. I find it crazy that other people will sit back and judge how other people live their life, raise their kids, and spend the money that they work for!
I have never really ever felt the need to explain myself to anyone, and going into this new year I am only surrounding myself with positive people...so if you aren't going to be that, than please don't bother reading much less taking the time to comment, as it will be overlooked.
For those of you who come here and read each day, THANK YOU, it means so much to me, and I truly love sharing my life and family with you all!
I am thankful for all the wonderful "friends" I have made in 2015, and I am looking forward to sharing 2016 with you all!
Happy New Year Friends!
Haters gonna hate. They need to GO. Happy new year!!! Keep doing your thing.
ReplyDeleteThanks girl! Happy new year!
DeleteHave you ever seen the celebrities reading mean tweets written about them on Jimmy Fallon? It is hysterical! Hard to believe that you get that many mean comments when you are a small mom blog, or at least what I would consider a small mom blog. You seem to have a witty sense of humor and are pretty grounded- I think it would be fun blog material for you (and Mark!) to comment and make these people realize how ignorant their comments really are!
ReplyDeleteHi there. What a great idea;). Too funny because about a week ago I posted a picture of Olivia napping, she fell asleep on the floor in her brothers room and someone commented with all the shopping I do I could at least afford a bed for my daughter....we laughed for hours about it. I mean my kid falls asleep on the floor, I snap a picture because she was looking cute and people assume she doesn't have a bed! Have a great new year!!!
DeleteKimm, I have never commented before but felt like I had to after reading this! I'm not a mom, but I enjoy reading your blog because it's like it's written by a friend, if that makes sense. I had to comment because I cannot believe someone actually wrote that about your daughter not having a bed! Wow. Happy New Year to you and your family, sounds like you know not to let those nasty comments get you down!
DeleteThank you so much for your kind words! Yes someone actually commented that I should go buy my daughter a nice bed with all the shopping I do;). It was seriously so laughable! I let her know Olivia has a beautiful bed however that afternoon she decided to crash on her brothers bedroom floor! I certainly don't let the ugly people of this world get me done! Life is too short and too good for that! Thank you so much for taking time each day to stop by here! Happy new year!!!
DeleteWell said. I hate seeing how mean people are. Especially women, who should be building each other up and not tearing each other apart. I think this is why I do not blog as much as I used to. Happy New Year
ReplyDeleteIt's a shame women are like this!!! Hope you have an awesome 2016
DeleteYou go girl. Don't let the haters get you down. Some people just have nothing better to do than look for ways to tear another person down and it's really sad. I love reading about your little family! Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteHey girl!! I always love your kind words! Have a very happy and blessed 2016!!!
DeleteI know I don't know you in "real life", but it hurts my heart when people are so ugly in their comments. They are almost asking intentional ugly questions just to be rude. Let these roll off your back. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you! Happy new year!
DeleteLooking forward to reading your blog in 2016. Sorry for ugly comments. Had a great time shopping today at the Dillards sale and thought of you when I got 3 new pairs of pjs.

Thanks Lisa! And I have heard so many people talking about the Dillard's sale today! I knew I should have went there! Enjoy your new jammies!
DeleteYes! Please don't give the trolls any more attention, and there's no reason to explain yourself to them. Keep being you, that's why we all love your blog!!
ReplyDeleteThank you! Happy new year!
DeleteSo sorry you have to deal with negative comments! Glad we have connected in this space. Best wishes for an amazing 2016!
ReplyDeleteYours is the only blog I read anymore on a regular basis. You are so real and unpretentious, and you seem like someone I could relate to in real life. I was going to suggest that you screen the comments. I didn't realize you were already doing this! Anyway, my opinion: this is YOUR blog. Don't let it be THEIR forum for their meanness. As you said, it's one thing to disagree (I sometimes disagree with you!), but hateful commentary is another matter.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for taking the time to comment! I appreciate that you come back often to read! i am a firm believer in "let's agree to disagree". We don't all need to agree but we should all respect each other...pretty basic ! Thanks again and have great new year!
